Mitsubishi Indoor Air Handlers in Houston
At Nick’s Air Conditioning, we are finding that more and more of our customers are interested in alternatives to expensive, energy-devouring central HVAC systems. Whole-house HVAC systems are set to one temperature, usually read at a central point in the home, often leaving rooms at the far ends of the house too cool or too warm.
From an energy cost standpoint, it’s expensive to heat and cool several unoccupied rooms but also damaging from a wear-and-tear perspective. Your whole-house HVAC system must work harder and cycle on and off more frequently to deal with hot and cold spots in the home.
If you’ve started considering the transition from whole-house HVAC to Mitsubishi Electric mini split heat pumps, you’ll need to choose an indoor air handler. Wall-mounted units are available in multiple colors and simulated finishes to best match your décor. Ceiling-mounted cassettes are available for the homeowner that doesn’t want to devote the wall space required.
Mini-Split Heat Pumps are Perfect for Older Homes Without Ductwork!
It’s time to stop relying on noisy, poorly insulated window unit air conditioners, energy-wasting electric space heaters, and those dangerous kerosene and liquid propane burners. Mini split heat pumps are the perfect comfort system solution to provide safe control of the heating and cooling of every room of your home.
Since mini-splits do not require ductwork to distribute treated air, they need no renovations to your home, installation is simple, and a single zone system can be installed in less than a day.
What Hardware Will I Need to Install in My House?
In addition to the outdoor compressor units, you’ll need a way to distribute the conditioned air throughout your home. Mitsubishi Electric offers two air handler configurations requiring no ductwork: a wall-mounted air handler or a flush-mounted ceiling cassette.
Wall Mounted Air Handler
Mitsubishi Electric’s wall-mounted air handler units are the most versatile of the two indoor units and are mounted high on the wall –about a foot below the ceiling—and work well for smaller spaces, like bedrooms and home offices. Wall-mounted units are perfect for single-zone installations, single rooms, and multi-zone set-ups that allow a single outdoor unit to be connected to as many as eight indoor units without the need for additional outdoor hardware.
Mitsubishi Electric offers an extensive line of sleek, stylish, wall-mounted indoor air handler units at several price points without sacrificing the essential features of the more expensive models. All Mitsubishi Electric wall-mounted indoor handlers incorporate INVERTER® technology to ensure optimum comfort, are engineered to be as quiet as possible, and all of them are Energy Star Rated for high efficiency.
How is a Wall Mounted Air Handler Installed?
Wall-mounted air handlers must be installed on an outside-facing wall so that the refrigerant line, control cable, and other hardware can pass through a 3″ hole in that wall and reach the indoor unit. Wall-mount air handlers work best for comfort control in a single room, and you can connect as many as eight indoor units to a single outdoor unit.
